When the morning comes, all the Windleaves die as if they were disappearing with the last gradients of the night. While their body returns to the real world and the first rays of the sun start lighting the Park, the gardener starts his job sweeping them away without knowing they were living creatures.

Nightbells

These little creatures live on the trunks and the branches in the park. They look like delicate tiny turtles with bell shaped shells. With the Windleaves they are the only creatures that can interact with the real world. Their eyes are always open because they don’t have eyelids. Even if they live in the Requiem, they have the ability to capture the real world light all day long without interruption..

When the statue awakes, the Nightbells start to shine and the World of Dawn becomes fluorescent. As they are living on the trees, only the branches and the trunks are slightly lighting the night. Because of the way their eyes are made, the Nightbells are always either on top of the branches or all around the trunk. Those who stay on the sides of the branches or underneath them will unfortunately become one-eyed or blind. They will go on sucking the life out of the trees but won't produce water of light anymore because the light element is missing. Then the life they stored in their bell curdles into Black Blood.
