The Ancient Market

There is a shop in the public square of Time City where people buy and sell ancient objects. These items have some architectural similarities, and even though a few people think they were crafted by a single man many cycles ago, no one really knows where they originally came from. The only thing most of the citizens care about is having the best deal. Every cycle, after the night with no dreams, the Ancient Market spreads its shelves on the public square and the shop becomes for a day the place where all the citizens gather around. All other activities are suspended on this very day: the public square gets crowded and everyone wants to find the best deal.

The Curse of the Lost Dream

Whenever someone dies in the town, after a while the relatives suddenly decide to sell all his or her belongings. After a night with no dreams they sell his or her objects on the Ancient Market. It may be a grief that is being purged in the Ancient Market or the magic of the night that affects every heart. When they wake up in the morning they realize it is the first time since a while that they cannot remember the dreams they had last night. As no one can explain this phenomenon they decided to call it the "Curse of the Lost Dream".
