They were screaming and insulting the Cyclesmith when the Wise Man arrived in the place, like a king followed by the servant Devoni Omigan. Weak, dizzy, already dead after losing his wife, the craftsman was hoping they would kill him soon, but the chief of the town, as if he knew it would change Time City’s destiny, couldn't make any decision. His wife and first counselor appeared like a ghost from nowhere and gently forced him to let the citizens choose between forgiveness and death.
Of course everyone voted for the second option. However an unexpected woman voice rose against this cruelty. In the ears of the Cyclesmith it sounded like an Angel sound. He tried to look in the crowd to know the face of that girl, and for a second he thought it was his Lady Light. With this image in his mind and a smile on his face, the citizens chained him to the central street light and someone who had won paper rock scissors gave him eight blows with a stick. The Wise Man said to leave the traitor where he was, that it wasn’t worth spending more energy for him. He knew that within eight days and eight nights the Cyclesmith would reach the end of his time.
The first night, the beautiful woman who voted against the death of the Cyclesmith braught a coat to cover his bare skin. During the following days the Cyclesmith could see the citizens walking around him without giving a glance or offering any food. Even the kids, usually playing in “Resonance Street” with the tricycles he created for them in the past, were now turning around and teasing him in the middle of the Public Square.
